Common questions
Can Pocket Panel change anything on my machine?
No. Pocket Panel is read-only. It does not write to controllers, force values, download programs, change modes or control equipment.
Why does it ask for Local Network access?
Local Network access lets Pocket Panel find and read devices on the network you are connected to. Without it, discovery cannot run. You can change this any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network.
No devices were found. What should I check?
Make sure your iPhone is on the same network as the device and that Local Network access is on. Discovery covers EtherNet/IP devices; if a device does not answer discovery, enter its address or a range directly.
A device shows as unsupported. Why?
Pocket Panel lists every device that answers so nothing on the network is hidden. Some it cannot interpret yet, and those are marked unsupported. Compatibility depends on the device and its firmware.
Do I need to type tag names?
No. Pocket Panel organizes the controller's data for you. Browse values, arrays and structures, then choose which tags to watch.
A value says it could not be read.
Pocket Panel shows only what a device reports. If a read fails or a value is not available, it says so plainly instead of guessing. Refresh, or check the connection to the device.
How do I export a recording?
Choose the values to chart, start a recording, then stop it and share. The recording is a CSV file you can open in a spreadsheet or send with the iOS share sheet.
Do I need an account or internet connection?
No account is needed. Pocket Panel works over your local network and talks directly to your devices.
